This SmartPro® Reader I (SPR-I) tests for diamonds, moissanite, and simulants based on their thermal and electrical conductivity properties. It can identify the new low conductivity moissanite, such as the Charles & Colvard® Forever One™ moissanite.
The ergonomically-designed tester is able to test stones as small as 1.0mm (.01ct) in size, using the industry's thinnest thermoelectric retractable probe tip size of 0.48mm.
After a 20-second warm-up time, the stone type appears as text on the large LCD screen within a second with no waiting time between tests. A metal alert buzzer ensures the probe tip is in contact with the stone during testing.
The unit is powered by 3 AAA batteries (included) with a low battery indicator and automatic power off. The batteries provide around 2.5 hours of continuous use. An optional AC adapter can be used instead (not included). A metal loose stone plate, neck lanyard, zippered carry case, probe tip oxidation sheet, and user manual are also included. Made in Thailand.

General Usage Tips:
Before using the tester for the first time, charge it overnight.
Keep both feet firmly on the floor to help ground the tester.
Always wipe stone surface with a clean microfiber cloth (not polishing cloth) to remove any dirt, grime, or oil residue before each test.
Always wipe the probe tip across a blank sheet of printer paper (non-waxy) to clean it before each test.
Loose stones must be placed in the stone tray with the other hand touching the side of the stone tray to help ground the tester.
Do not test jewelry items still stored in a box, display tray, etc. Always hold the piece in your hand to help ground the tester.
